While we are looking forward to seeing everyone at Saturday’s Meeting (https://www.cincinnaticalligraphy.com/september-19-washi-tape-journal/), there is another event happening after our meeting. As you may know, artist, teacher, and friend of the guild, Jacqueline Sullivan, passed away over the summer after a long illness. I, personally, took many classes with her, and she was a generous, wonderful instructor.
Here is what Patty Bertsch kindly sent me:
Jacqueline Cecilia (Bedel) Sullivan, an accomplished abstract and mixed media artist, calligrapher, and teacher, passed away in Cincinnati, Ohio, June 27, 2026 at the age of 75. She died peacefully in hospice with her son John by her side after a valiant 22-month battle with pancreatic cancer.
Jacqueline was well known for her work and teaching in abstract acrylics, mark making, eco-printing, and magnificent color experimentation.
The Sullivan and Bedel families invite everyone to a celebration of Jacqueline’s remarkable life on Saturday, September 19 at St. James Episcopal Church on 3207 Montana Ave from 1-4pm.
