Greater Cincinnati Calligraphers' Guild

March 17: Much Ado About Knotting

Please join us on Saturday, March 17 at 10 a.m. for our March Guild meeting. We will be at our normal meeting place at the Evendale Cultural Arts Center.

Our guest will be Ann Bain from the Dayton area and she will show us how to make Celtic knots. Here is her description: We’ll weave our way through the tangle of the Celtic mind with no notion of where it will lead us … but ’tis a trip worth the price.  Soda Bread and Honey Meade beside the Crock o’ Gold at the end.

Supply List:

  • Micron pens (or similar), .005 and larger
  • pencils/erasers
  • ruler – 6″ will do
  • triangles, compass, if you have them
  • paper stomps
  • smooth paper – 8 1/2 x 11, 11 x 14; either will do
  • anything you want to share
  • an uncluttered brain

The illustration was done by an artist named Martyn Turner.  If only it were that easy to spill out the knots….

The Greater Cincinnati Calligrapher‘s Guild is open to anyone with an interest in the lettering arts.

All meetings are held at 10 a.m. on the lower level of the Evendale Cultural Arts Center, 10500 Reading Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45241, unless otherwise noted.
