November 18: Six Ways to Sensualize a Straight Stroke

Please join us for the Greater Cincinnati Calligrapher’s Guild meeting, Saturday, November 18, 2017, at the Evendale Recreation Center (Note the change in venue)

If you have never penipulated, pressurized, tipped, retouched, texturized; or combined all of these; techniques, this is the meeting for you!

After 58 years of holding a pen and sometimes working up to 60 hours a week, Karen McMannon got a little bored with same old, same old and marveled at the exquisite penmanship of the masters. At our November meeting Karen will share some of the tricks of the trade you may want to try. There will be some treats from past Guild history and seven wonderful handouts for your future reference. This meeting will definitely bump up the quality of your calligraphy.

SUPPLIES TO BRING:
You will receive a master worksheet to experience the introduced techniques.

Recommended if you have:

  • Additional graph paper to work aside
  • Soft pencil
  • Penholder
  • Any writing fluid
  • Flexible broad edge nib without reservoir (Brause or Mitchell is ideal. If you don’t have them they will be available at the meeting)

Please note: Due to a scheduling conflict, this meeting is at the Recreation Center which is one driveway farther on Reading Rd. The Rec Center is on the other side of the pool from the Arts Center, and behind the fire house.

We have a busy year ahead, some things are still in the planning stages and we will need volunteers for some of the events.
