October 21: Fun with the Split Nib

Split Nib

Please join us Sat. October 21, at 10 a.m. at the Evendale Cultural Arts Center for this fun meeting.

When I was a young calligrapher, I bought these really cool scroll nibs. I tested them, hated what turned out, and set them aside for years. Well, this summer at IAMPETH, I took Bob Hurford’s Split Nib class and, well, now that I know some of the tricks of using them, I am much happier with the results.

If you have scroll nibs and ink bring them. If not, no worries, I found some scroll nib markers and a few extra nibs and you can borrow some. Bring grid paper and / or nice paper to practice on.

Feel free to invite and bring friends. If you have any ideas for upcoming meetings or classes, let us know, we have a few TBD (to be determined) on our dates to the left.

Save the date: We are offering a 1-day workshop on Saturday, February 10 with local calligrapher / artist / friend Jacqueline Sullivan. Details are still developing.
Of interest to members.
Jennifer Carroll is offering 3 beginning calligraphy classes. Follow the links below to sign up and feel free to share.
